Riding Academy

Pony Tail Acres offer a Riding Academy at our facility in Powder Springs. We’re conveniently located just minutes from Atlanta and offer very reasonable rates.  Sorry, we do not rent horses riding.

If you would like to take lessons on your horse, please inquire about availability. We require a negative Coggins on-site. For general questions about lessons, please contact Dawn at dawn@ponytailacres.org or call 404-317-1052.

RidingPony Tail Acres has been offering English riding lessons for all levels of equestrians since 2009. Our program is designed for both children and adults, from pleasure riders to advanced competitors. We offer private or group riding lessons that can be scheduled at your convenience. Our riding program is focused on Eventing, Dressage, and Jumper training. We also conduct Pony Club meetings at our farm and off-property throughout the year. We are proud to be a participating Riding Center in the United States Pony Club (see USPC Riding Center Tab).

_112Our Riding Academy is a comprehensive program that not only teaches riders how to ride but also how to care for their horse and equipment. We tailor each riding lesson to the individual needs of the rider. As they progress in the program, they will achieve different levels of certification, which will allow them to enjoy additional benefits or perks during their Riding Academy experience. During horse management lessons, students learn everything they need to know about caring for a horse, from safety to feeding to barn and pasture management, travel safety, and the importance of good record keeping. Our ultimate goal is to produce knowledgeable horsemen and women who can be assets to the horse industry and the overall community.

Our SafeSport Certified instructors carefully select each lesson horse and match them with the most suitable student. We take pride in providing safe and personable mounts for our riders. Our program also allows students to showcase their abilities by attending horse shows or Pony Club Rallies. We attend many shows throughout the year and also host clinics with outside instructors.
